Under my 110's stand I had it sitting on left over pieces of ceramic tile so the base of the stand wouldn't leave such a deep impression in the carpet. I'm at the beginning of a 190g FOWLR set up and just thought of asking people on here who may have more experience or a better idea than I did concerning this. I'm wondering if there's a better material that won't screw up the carpet and allow it to breathe etc.

If anyone has a better idea/suggestion please post!

I use plywood but I think it has the same breathing issues as tile.

I would be careful using that ceramic tile. With enough pressure that will surely crack.

Heres a little trick to remove those indentations in carpet. Take a piece of ice and place it on the mark leave it sit until the ice melts and walla!! The indentation will disappear!!!

I'm thinking the same thing. That's why i posted here. Got away with it on the 110, but was doubtful will still work w/a 190. Not sure what i'm going to do. I just learned the other day however that the base of the stand is solid, not open like the old one. If that's the case impression issue in the carpet won't be as bad. Didnt know that about ice! Would have to be a big piece!

Not sure why you care about dents in the carpet... they'll eventually rebound once the tank is gone.

I just moved and I have some heavy furniture - particularly the dressers for the old lady. Serious dents left in the rug but it'll come up in no time on its own. A fork or ice are both useful ways to speed it up.

I also moved my 55 during the move. It was (and is) on solid wood floors. Didn't leave a mark at all. The more "base" there is to the stand, the less pressure at any given point and the dent is not so much.
