IMO it is the "nicest feature" all-in-one tank there is. The custom 'T5' lights that were made for them are very high output compared to the PCs in the Oceanics and JBJ. It is fully loaded and ready to go! If you've got the extra $, I would def. get it. I was thinking about getting one for a mantis :p

do you think is worth the extra cash... i cant find alot on the oceanic version but is it around the same price range or is the red sea max alot more money... they have a great website and that movie you can download really shows alot... although they have about a grand of coral and 15 fish in a 34 gallon tank for a display:-/

I tossed up between one of these and a custom aqua vital 980. I went with the aqua vital purely for the extra volume and room for error, however the red sea max was quite a nice setup. Everything you need is there and it is nicely built for a nano reef aquarium!

IMO yes, because you have to tweak the 'mods' you do on the biocube so much...mines still a pain to get running...and even with the retrofit mod (3rd bulb) I still have only 72watts (redsea = 110)

I saw one at a pet shop in mcquarie shopping centre, they had 3 fire fish in it, and a bunch of fake corals... What a waste.

It was growing a lot of agae on the plastic they shoved in but i guess thats due to their lack of attention and intense 12 hour lighing. but with that said it was still very clean.

hi i am new to hear so i hope i am doing this right. i just got my son a red sea max for his birthday we are just into its 3rd week of cycling and have abput 8kg of live rock and our first test fish what i have called doomed.( he has lasted 6 days so far ). the one thing we have found is that the temp is staying around the 27-28 mark. the heater is off and out side temp is about 20. we have spoken to our local shop and they have had similar probs. we are coming into winter here so it isnt a problem yet but i think we will have to get a chiller for summer...............
