That would be fine then if you're looking for max graphics.

Look on I buy power as well. I have a $2000 laptop and it has a back lit keyboard that I can change colors on and make it flash and biometric security.

So for the same price i get a smaller screen, less ram. I do like asus tho, they make great laptops!

And i forgot to add that the $1100 price tag included the killer wifi(best one they offer).

The reason for dual cards on laptops is to save on energy consumption. Running on the nvidia full time would really tax the power draw and kill the battery life. The way we work things now is to have an onboard less powerful graphic card handle the basic everyday stuff and then have the high power card enabled when 3d rendering is necessary. I believe the nvidia even has options in the control panel which you can explicitely set the programs you want to use that card. Like if you want all your web browsing to use the nvidia you could add chrome to the list of applications that will turn on the nvidia card. Most programs calling for 3d will automatically use the nvidia card.

Is there a specific reason you want a gaming laptop? I feel like they are such a waste of money. A gaming desktop will get u so much more for less money.

I think it is a better designed laptop. It will run much cooler. If you want you could go for the 17in which will give you more specs.

    Just throwing out the option.

Thank you, it's nice to see someone understand the point in DUAL cards. I didn't say Parallel. There are a total of two cards inside.

I'm in IT but always thought it was funny when people paid huge money to build machines, now pre built desktops to play games.
They makes these machines called PS3's and XBox's that are pretty good. I don't think there is $600-2000 difference in quality. lol
But to each his own, I have other toys too. I just no longer have the urge to pay with PC's when I get out of work!

There is a major difference when playing today's newst most demanding games on a high-end computer compared to a 7 year old PS3 and even older 360.

Also there are many enjoyable games that are PC only.
