What do you think of this laptop?

I play world of warcraft and sc2, my job is pretty undemanding so basically my whole day at work i play on my laptop. But i like to be able to bring it home with me at night.

 

I have two as well in my laptop. Integrated and a gtx 670m. I wouldn't use the terminology duel though. As for the console vs computer debate, hate console players and I like being able to run my own servers. There are plenty of free games for computers as well.

Go with a full 17.3 inch screen. Trust me on that one.

 

Yea thats what i have now. I have a sager m570ru.

It has an intel core 2 duo t9300 2.5ghz
with 4gb ram
120gb SSD
and a nvidia geforce 8800M GTX.

It lags when in 40 man raids in WOW.

And it lags is SC2 when in massing games. But other wise it is a great machine.

Just from 2008 so i want something new, and i know with the new gen video cards of this year they are doubling the 3d mark vantage scores that the cards of last year were. So i think it is a good time to upgrade.

I paid $500 for this one, going to give it to my gf. So for twice what i paid for this if it is more then twice as good i will be twice as happy lol

 

Have you looked into just upgrading the video card? You might get lucky and have that option.

I stopped paying attention to computers after my Macintosh Quadra 840AV with powerPC upgrade crashed. Now I just buy a new one every 3 or 4 years. This thread does however make me want to whip out my old Atari and bust some space invaders. ( I'm so out of the loop. I'll just crawl back into my cave . )

 

I had really good luck with Sony laptops. You usually can get F or S series Sony Vaio for 25..30% less than Dell/HP/Asus. I always ordered direct from Sony.

i5 is plenty for any game really. Video and memory matter more.

You can get blu-ray drive and 1080p screen with i5/i7 for under $1100.

 

Don't think I saw it on your build but get a SSD for sure. Makes windows startup so fast. Loading games and zoning sweet.

 

Ah yea i have a 120g SSD im my current laptop, so gonna just move it over to the new one. Put OS and all games on the ssd, and all the rest of the junk on the normal HD

 

What SSD do you have? The most recent ones are WAAYYYY more powerful that the previous generation.
