    the scrapers on the stick are sturdy but dont work very well. i just use a scrubber for dishes and poot my hand in there and scrape it off just make sure your hands are extremly clean every time. plus your fish and shrimp get use to you. whene i move things in my tank my shrimp jumps on my arm and cleans my arm hand and my finger nails hes so cool ^ - ^
