Hello... Just wondering what eveyone uses to clean their hands before putting them in your reef tank. (If anything at all) Let me know... because I find that using some soaps is pretty bad.

I use to wash my hand and then I stop. Then I used to go in with bare hand, and now I ware glove.

I don't use any soap at all. I wash with water only and dry my hands with a clean bath towel.

I work in the construction field so I get pretty dirty. I use soap to remove oil, gas etc. then rinse very well with water. I have no problems with that regimen-I think I am going to invest in gloves though(purple and orange) ones available online at Marine Depot etc.

I usually wash with dish soap, if I hadn't washed them in a while. I wash my hands a few times a day usually so, unless I've been into something, I just go in. I keep wanting to get some good gloves, but haven't done that yet.

Thanks for the input. I noticed that when I used "Soft Soap" or another soap that contains moisturizers, my red slime algae would come back. I am going to continue using dish soap. That seems to rinse well and have no ill effects.

Ditto. I rub my hand clean with pure tap water, then dry it with a towel. ;D The only time you need to use soap is if you grabbed something oily, etc, etc. But even if I did, I wouldn't put my hand in there until I took a shower.

I never use soap on my hands if I am going to be in my tank....unless I have lotion or something else on my hands then I wash with soap and rince well.
