I have a mess of this growing on my rocks. I tried to pull it off last night and it would not pull off this time. I just started my fuge last night with some chaeto, so hopefully it will start to die off. I hope it's just some nuisance filamental algae and not bryopsis. ::)

looks like some good old green hair algae. try some turbo snails they took care of mine. good luck. or pull the rock before it spreads. much cheaper to remove rock than to fight the growth. or torch it

Thanks guys. My snails started grazing on it when they were first put in, now they are refusing to do their jobs. Who knew snails would go on strike??? They aren't even keeping my tank and PHs clean anymore, sheesh. Lazy I tell ya!

you want to nip this problem soon, trust me. if you can pull the rocks with the GHA and just scrub them with tooth brush to get off what you can and hopefully your cleaning crew can do the rest.

but you still want to check your parameters so see where the underlining problem is

Yeah, I scrubbed them about 2 months ago. What was feeding them was an old Fluval 304 that was kicking out a good 20ppm NO3. I removed it from my tank last night when I plumbed in my fuge. The rock that I took the pic of, the GHA is already starting to turn brown, so hopefully it will be the end of this PITA. As far as my params:
    NH3: 0ppm
    NO2: 0ppm
NO3: 0ppm (algae was eating them)
    Ca: 480
    Mg: 1440
    dKH: 13
    pH: 8.3
    SG: 1.024
    Haven't check PO3 in 2 weeks though.

I've got 10 snails in my tank, mix of margarita and turbos. They ate the GHA the first time around, now they are just being lazy or full and not eating. :( I don't want to overload my system with too many of them.
