BRS has Drew's dosing pumps that I use. They just came out with new ones that are a bit smaller. Both are around $80 a piece. I really like mine. Simple easy, and inexspensive relatively.

They said they will continue to carry both until the new one proves reliable. (I have no doubt they will). Both put out around 1.5 ml/min. The new ones are a little slower. They can be run with simple digital timers, but I have mine on my controler. They do not back feed. I'm very happy.

Powerman thanks for pointing me to brs. I'm going to order two of the pumps today! Do you use there ca, mg, and alk also? If not what are you using?

Lots of folks are happy with B-ionic. I use BRS 2 pt. Same as many other. I actually really love BRS and am very happy doing buisness with them. I trust their quality and "generic" bulk pricing. I use their 2 pt and dosing pumps, and run their Rox .8 carbon in their reactor, and when I get a RO/DI, I will get it from them. So ya... I am a fan.

I got the starter kit 2 pt. I was dosing too much but got that all straigtened out. That kit will probably last me a year, if not more. It is about time to make another batch, so this time I will record how long a gallon lasts.

nice. I think I'll go with brs two part too. I'm getting two pumps one for alk. one for ca. I'll manually dose mag as needed. I may get a pump for that in the future too.

this is what I use... Simple and easy to use. You just need to get your air pumps for this unit. This is built to last forever. Only thing you might ever need to replace is your air pumps hich are a dime a dozen.

Ive had no problems with this and Im a happy camper with it. I use the esv bionic twopart sytem with this.

If you read the directions for their 2 pt, they tell you dose equal parts Alk/Ca, and when you are done with the gallon jugs, dose 20 oz of Mg. Some do it half way, but they insist Mg does not drop that much and doing at the end of the gallon is fine. So you definitely don't need a dosing pump dosing every day for Mg. I dose 10 oz in the middle of the gallon and 10 oz at the end.

I recommend the grand daddy of dosing pumps. Check it out...

    Innovative Aquatics Sentry Dosing Pump

Call me crazy, but I would love to buy one of these. $400 bucks isn't that bad when you have 10K or more invested right?? When I go big, this will be on my shopping list..

Here's my thread specifically on the auto dosing
    http://www.3reef.com/forums/filters-etc/dosing-pump-question-66742.html

I too use the BRS 2-part. It's what I'm using my triple doser for. My RO/DI and ATO setup is all bought from BRS too. Great place.

That's right. The triple works out to something like 80-90 bucks per pump. Plus the 'controller' piece. They also make a single and a double (and a quad). You could just as easily get a double doser and do the Mg manually as you suggest. I went a wee bit over board, but am happy with it.

The logic of my doser is kind of old school. It's set in intervals, not by time. Once I got it figured out, it made sense and is np.
