My tank is out of control with algae and it is a pain to keep up with cleaning it all by myself. All i have in my tank is a Firefish goby, spotted hawk fish, 2 clown fish, and a scooter blenny. I need to know what the best algae eaters are that are easy to care for. Thanks to any replies!

Tangs, snails, emerald crabs and lawn mower blennies. What size tank is it? What type of algae is it? What are your Perameters? How often do you feed? Find the sourse of the algae, and deal with it. You have several fish, do you have a clean up crew for detris? Do you have good flow and blow water over you rocks before doing a water change? Use a turkey baster and gently blow water over the rocks to blaste off stuff that hung up on them. A long lighting cycle will also help the algea to grow, may need to cut back on the times lights are on.

I bought a tang And it wiped my algae problem out in a few days. Emerald crabs do the job but you will need quite a few and turbo snails do well

salt4me is right you need to find the source which is usually excess nutrients in the water from things like uneaten food, fish poop, and other byproducts of the life cycles of the animals in your tank but the number 1 cause of algae in my experience is phosphates which mostly gets introduced into the tank by fish food. so get yourself a good phosphate reactor and media like some gfo or seachems phosorb and within a few weeks you should notice a decline in the algae population and in a month or 2 it should be all gone

Just cuz you did doesnt mean itll work for this guy. He might have a small tank.

Also check your bulbs, if they need replacing they can cause algae.

Water changes and snails, witha reduced photoperiod is how ive beaten cyano and green hair in the past. Try it.
