    Hey Everyone,

I am 5 months into my 90 gal tank setup. So far patience has been the key (although I have none). I probably have more corals and inverts than I should,..being a 5 month old tank. But everything seems to be thriving, everytime I put something new in my tank and after it acclimates it expand and it looks nice. I've been adding Kalkwasser w/vinegar, backing soda, magnesium and essential elements to my water. I do water changes every 3 to 4 weeks depends on the load I get in my sump. I have 3 questions, one is what do you think about how I am managing my tank?, based on how I described how all of the coral and inverts react in my tank, do you think my tank is doing good? and what else can I add to my tank to help get more color and health to my corals and inverts? Any advise and info is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Yea, I'v got a great little thread about how I burned my tank out and had to set up a nursery while I tear it down and nuke it all. I DIDN'T LISTEN. Not that I didn't listen, I just saw results. Immediate results mean nada bro. here is my 2 cents.

I have a 75g and it did fantastic up until a week ago. I only lost one fish but i could tell everything was suffering. I'm under 6 months and so far I'v been doing everything by the book EXCEPT taking it slow. But I know what it's like walking into the fish store and seeing all of those beauties.

Do you test before you add chems?

3-4 weeks is kind of a long time to go between W/C's. By adding stuff into the tank you might be masking some potential problems that frequent water changes will remedy naturally.

And lastly, dude, lets see some pictures!

Got pics? it sounds like a great setup, and a beautiful tank, I have a 55g that is close to 6mo and I believe anything I put in there will live.

Yeah I always test before I add anything then I add depending on whats low. I will get some pics on this thread soon so you can see what my tank looks like.

Parameters taken yesterday was: Calcium = 380, Alk = 9.2, Mag = 1200, Ph = 8.3. So I added some calcium to bring that up to 440 hopefully, and backing soda to bring alk to 12 and mag to bring that up to 1400. What do you think?

I think 440, 12, and 1400 are all ok numbers to shoot for. Maybe just NOW take it slow. Give the tank some time to age. Learn to maintain your numbers and adopt good husbandry skills.

Most of us can keep a coral alive for a month or two. What's an accomplishment is keeping them pristine and growing over the long haul.

I'll let you know when I get there! :)
