I mention that problem around 3 months ago. I had a reef tank for last 6 years, from 55, 90 to 125 now. I never had problem with algae before. My parameters are always steady. PH-8.1, Amonia-0, Nitrite-0, Nitrate-0, Calcium- 420, Phosfate-0, MG-1300, Alk-8.5dKH. Keep 5,6 fishes all healthy. 3 months ago i bought Naso and soon he stopped eating. So I started feeding every day and more and more...Then I noticed that my coraline is gone and cheato in the fuge stopped growing, getting smaller. And worst part I noticed algae on rocks < picks 3 and 4>. I knew something is wrong. Last 8,9 months I got lazy and did not checked Nitrate and Phosfate because they were always 0. When I checked water Nitrate was 60 and Phosfate 0.25!!!!!! Since then <3 months roughly>I lowered Nitrate to 10 <water changes> and Phosfate to 0 < installed GFO reactor> but algae still growing. What else I can do? Those parameters are very good < still little work on Nitrates> I can't believe how everything could change so quick.I asked some people at local fish stores, one even came to my house but could not find reason for algae still growing. Please help

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Lighting type please?

Are you using any Macro Algae to assist you?

Oh and your tank is absolutely hideous!!!!!

Looks like it is doing excellent to me, wish I had that problem.

6' tank. On first 2 picks you can't tell, 2nd pick better side of the tank. Close look on picks 3 and 4 left side of the tank <really bad>. From right side 4' Current 2MH-150w with 4-T5s 54w. Remaining 2' Current 24" 4-T5s 24w <worst side>. Like i said I have a fuge with Cheato it was growing like crazy until problem occurred and now its getting smaller and smaller. When Nitrate and Phosfate were 0 cheato was growing <feeding of it> Then problem started Nitrate, Phosfate high and Cheato not growing. How's that possible??????

Well, not sure what the source is but I might have a fix. Though it would be nice to narrow down the source. Any how. Maybe try an algae scrubber. I just posted my diy build the other day so shouldn't be hard to find. In fact I'll post an update pic after this so it should pop to the top. I bet you can probably throw a quick one together with what you have laying around.

I think that Corailine alluded to it....it really doesn't look to be a bad problem.....probably just getting back to your regular schedule of doing things will bring everything back in line..the extra feeding probably fueled it and so it will take some time to see the algae decline. Maybe adding in a few extra CUC members might be good - I'm not sure what your current crew is...Your tank is stunning BTW

I wish my issues were as bad as yours. Just sayin. Your tank looks good. With regular maintenance, it should be back to normal in no time,

Yes, I might add CUC. Looking at them right now. Last time i add CUC was like 2 years ago. Still have maybe 10 Scarlet crabs, 15 Margaritas snails, 10 Nassarius snails,10 Turbos, 4 Cleaner shrimps, Queen Conch, not enough really.

That sounds like a lot to me!! If you'd like more, I'm sure there's no harm in that. That's amazing that you've still got so many after 2 years....

Awesome tank. What kind of anemone is that?
