In the near future I'm planning a much larger tank. Either a 55gal or 90gal. There are so many filtration choices! I see the cheapest is the Marineland Biowheel route(dual biowheel for up to 80gal) then there are canister filters, wet/dry filters, and overflow filters argh so many choices!

I'll be setting up a fish only 55-90gal tank with about 2-5fish plus an eel. What option would be best?(yes I like cheap too)Could the biowheel do the job? Do good canister filters require drilling ports into the tank?(I don't mind)
    Any opinions?

you will probably want to get a skimmer and it varries alot with tank size
