I have no fish in my tank yet, its coming to the end of my cycle and all I have so far are a few crabs and a snail. Im looking to get some fish at the end of the week... one of which need to eat my pod outbreak!! lol there are hundreds! Every wall is covered in them, they skim across the surface of the water, and my rocks look like they are moving! I understand that they are good, and the fact that they have magically appeared means my water is looking good....but they dont look nice :-/ and I would prefer not to have so many there that they are obviously in the tank....if you get me?

    Thanks guys!

I would suggest a six-line wrasse, as it will eat those and other things, as well as being easy to care for.
May I ask why you want them gone? They are only beneficial to a tank.

Are wrasse's not quite big fish? My friend had one and it was about 4" I think. I have a 26G biocube.

I don't want them gone, just under control...they seem to double in numbers every day! Thanks for your input.

Hmmm. Well, a scooter blenny will eat them, and they stay quite small.
Also, when you're tank comes out of the cycle for a bit, and all the waste/algae becomes more balanced, the pod population will achieve a balance. Just something to think about.

Ok, thanks very much. Well I read they can cause stress on your stock? (my hermits) True?
Just wanted to get them under control asap. But if the numbers drop after a while by themselves, I might let nature take its course.

Ha, your gonna get to a point where your pods dwindle, and you'll wish for them. lol. I just had a pod explosion after months of not being able to spot any (they're there though!). Now I'm grateful for their numbers.

Deal! I came home a few days ago to a pod explosion. i lost two fish to ich in the last few weeks.. I'm not sure if that sparked it, because they weren't feeding off them.. not sure. Saddened by death, enlightened by new birth! Pods!!!

a sixline wrasse would probably be ok in your 26gallon they do get four inches but thats there max size, i doubt yours would get that big even with all those pods.

if you get one it may end up looking like it swallowed a marble, mine looked like that after i dosed the tank with pods. waste of money with it in there but i bet the wrasse enjoyed it.
