What fish?

I just got back from the LFS (for the second time) I had bought a lunare wrasse that they said was reef safe, i remembered that some wrasses were reef safe. After i got home and googled the wrasse i found out that it is not reef compatible. Jumped back in my car to return it. From what i gather they eat any crusaceans, shrimp, hermits, amphipods, etc. This fish is really cool and i may have to start a FOWLR tank just to get one.
So they have a blonde naso tang that looks very cool, he is about 5 inches right now but i have read they can get to 20 inches. I have the 95 gallon and im wandering if this is too small . any suggestions?

I think that the naso tank would be suitable and are a good reef species, however do u have any other tangs in your tank? because you can cause problems between the two tangs, and its also not recommended to have two tangs in a tank thats less than about 120g.

In relation to the size, a tang that big in a tank would take an extremely long time, and they generally dont get that big. I would go with the tang mate!

so does anyone know the growth rate of the Bonde naso tang? I guess if it will be 18 inches in 3 or 4 years it will be time for a tank upgrade then anyway. BTW breed i have one other yellow tang in the tank right now. The naso at the LFS in in a tank with two yellow tangs, 2 powder blue tangs and a sailfin tang, the LFS says they all went in at different times and he has had no problems.

 

Aslong as there is enough food to feed them, there won't be any problems. In the wild they school in the hundreds. You need plenty of LR with some green hair algae or some other kind of dark green vegatable suchas romaine lettuce with a a few veggie clips spread out the tank if you don't have any green hair algae. Having enough food cuts down on the aggression a lot. Tangs are more or less the cows of the sea, they will eat prepared food and flake but they will graze on the live rock all day long. Any where you read about them will tell you they are agressive and only one per tank of the same body shape. The key is having enough food so they won't be trying to protect their food sourse.

hey breed does your trigger not eat your coral?
by the way, i now have a blonde naso tang in the tank. My yellow tang kept fronting the naso for a while but after about 30 mins he seems to be leaving her alone. If the Naso gets too big ill just have to buy a new tank. oh that will be a shame.

 

No my trigger is a good boy! hasn't touched anything... its my lemonpeel thats the problem.

You should be fine with them, they should get on! It will be a while before it gets too big so i wouldn't be too worried yet.
