I know that I will be getting those long gloves, but I need also those shorts ones. I went to home depot, they have 3 types. Latex, Vinyl, and Nirtile. What's cool about nirtile, it says puncture proof. Which do you recommend? and is any of these going to change the water parameter at all?

    Thanks

I use the TUNZE Protective Gloves. The ripping is alleviated if you double them up and rubber band the top so they do not slip.

I use vinyl gloves and put a rubber band around the opening so that water doesn't go into the gloves. I need gloves that don't let water in, so I'll follow this thread :)

Personally, I don't use gloves (long-timer, before we knew about palytoxins, etc), but if you're not certain whether or not you're allergic or sensitive, I'd highly recommend them, so here's a bump for your question.

Yep, it most certainly can happen. My only reaction came from a Condylactus Anemone sting; felt a mild tingle and got a little rash that was numb for a few hours. lol. I learned to handle nems with a net, and I don't do poisonous fish. :)
