What goes in the fuge.Talk to me like im a 5 year old

I just got my first nano cube on CL and it is kinda gutted.I need to know what kind of plumbing, pumps, media, and so forth.Someone somewhere said something about a basket.Im clueless.

but in the fuge macro algae and other live rock and sand usually go in there. some cuc can if it needs it. But thats about all.

Think of a refugium as a mini aquarium in the larger aquarium
Usually they have macro algae,air flow such as a power head or air stone,small overhead light

Silly question but do you know what a refugium is used for;D

 

Your going to need a return pump for sure, im not sure what size pump can fit in that compartment as ive never had this tank before. Im sure someone around here has that exact set up and can help you. You may want to get a skimmer in one of the other chambers, once again not sure what will fit. put a fuge in the last one and u should be fine... not sure how large of a fuge youll get, but if you want to try it shoot for it.

 

Its your filtration system right?

 

Isnt the whole back part all three chambers called the fuge? What do you mean by put the fuge in the last part? What do i put in it.Chaeto?Sand?Rock? If so how do i contain it

 

Actually the live rock is your filtration system. the refuge is a place of refuge for animals you do not want in the DT or are in need of recovery or it is used for and algae growth area for nutrient export.

I believe the center section is usually made into a refuge with cheato placed in there and a light over the section or even at the side after removing any paint to let the light through.
