What Happened to my tank

    well to let you all in

    i woke up this morning and to my surprise, my tank was back to normal

    i tested water today just to be safe, and all seem well

    phosphates are up a little but not to bad


    i am running 2 whisper 60's and i changed all 4 filters in it to be safe


    no skimmer at present time

    what were you all testing for? nh3, no2 no3 alk mag cal? those filters are HOBs? is the filter pack floss/carbon in one? i dont know if changing all 4 was the best idea, as bacteria will be on those. how often do you do WCs?

    i would get a skimmer for sure, a good one. they remove DOCs, before they can have much of an effect on the tank

    yes they are HOB and they use 2 floss/carbon in each


    tested cal, nirates, nitrites, ammo

    i have done 2 WC since setup, last one was 10gal about a week ago

    Yes well thats how bacterial blooms do, search the cloudy tank problem and if I posted on them I usually tell the people to limit feeding and set back as a rule with in 24 to 72 hrs they will be far more clear then before the bloom .. For what its worth it a waring sign ! High nutrients and low oxygen and to much bio load .. and lack of filtration and or skimmer. I would also slack off on the water changes the last one may have added to the bloom / or die off you may have removed to much of what you already do not have a balance of bacteria. Every water change disturbs the bacterial levels
