Wow. That comment made me snort into my computer. Way to go...I think I'm actually giving karma for that one. hahaha

Anyways, you're going to cycle, whether you like it or not. As soon as ammonia builds up from either rock die off, fish waste (poop), fish food, or anything else that can decompose or break down, the bacteria will start to grow as they consume the ammonia source and convert it into nitrites, then the nitrifying bacteria will grow and convert the nitrites to nitrates.

Like it or not, you WILL cycle. If you control your cycle, you can start adding livestock such as other fish after a few weeks. If you don't monitory your cycle and just decide to throw one fish in, most fish die from the ammonia buildup. Some hardy fish such as chromis or damsels survive it. However, if you decide to put all of your fish you will have in at once at the beginning of the tanks life (pre cycle), you've got a 99.99% chance of everything dying and your tank and investment crashing back into reality.

I'm kind of wondering why you even asked this, because you have a tank picture in your avatar...? Obviously you've experienced a cycle before if that is your tank, whether you know you experienced it or not.

HEY GUYS...I still don't get it?

I wouldn't NOT cycle, I am just wondering what happens. So even if you put fish in when you aren't supposed to, your tank still cycles anyways? I am sure the end result will be bacteria that isn't as strong as it coulda been?

Will someone fill me in on the funny comment?

Yes your tank will cycle, but your fish will probably die from all of the ammonia in the water. The bacteria would probably be VERY strong if you leave all the dead fish in there. The more waste/decomposing stuff in a tank, the more bacteria will grow to consume it. Supply and demand.
