Now don't be confused by the title, we all know our fish tanks are expensive. I was sitting here responding to a post and looked around and at my tank and realized, wow this place really came together. The question is what has this tank really cost? I have gotten a new (giant) picture for the living room, new patio furniture, wine racks, and TV. All to take the heat off my tank haha Look around your house and see what the significant other has said but you needed two mp40's(she read the box) I want....... haha has everyone else felt my pain?

just my 5 gallon nano i have dropped about 1400 dollars into that, that includes all the equipment and livestock i no longer have in it. also thats not including me refinishing my hardwood floor because of all the damage the tanks have done to it.

My 29 gallon Biocube, I'm sitting at around $ 2,500.00. That's not including livestock.

My tank has cost me the hiring of a weekly housecleaner so i don't have to hear the "you're always messing with the tank but never the house" weekly speech. I'm not gonna even add up the $$$$ as I'll prob cry;)

You guys missed what i was getting at. Trying to see if I'm the only sucker or has everyone else had to distract from the tank by getting the gf/wife other things

So far, Not too much. wait, I did buy her a 1,500 dog. I love the dog though so it isn't too bad. I make most of the money and pay all the bills so the wife usually leaves me alone on the money thing. I take her out to dinner often and clean her car out. Actually, other then living with me my wife has it pretty good!

I could see the trade off.... I hope my wife doesn;t read this post!

Every weekend when I want to go to the store to pick up something for the tank I have to knock at least one or two items off of my "to-do" list for the wife. Classic case of slide of hand. Keep her looking at what I've done for her and not what I've done for me. I have the same philosophy with strip clubs but that's a different thread
