    Today,

After giving and trading a few frags, I now have a 3rd LED that matches the power of the other 2 I have and used the now extra one for my frag area.

I built a new shelf and moved my DIY ATO resevoir to the other side of my sump area.
I added a new seperate valved line off my RO/DI also- one to fill up my 55g salt mixing tank and one to use to fill my Kalwasser drip, clean things, etc.
I moved it to use the area for my drilled 40B to set it up as a seperate frag tank.
Then I'll get my frag area out of current 125g sump, and expand my Chaeto area even more!

Today - I picked up a 7" Chalice and a few assorted Frags, I did a 30G water change on my FW tank, I did a 30G water change on my SW - I changed my media. I cleaned the glass and I stared at the tank.

I also ordered my acrylic for my sump - I am going to pull it apart and put in a new baffle and 3 - 7" sock holder. I figure it is going to be a 24 hour system downtime, gonna put heaters in each tank - kick the wavemakers up and shut the sump off. While I am pulling the sump I have a few small plumbing tweaks to do. I have another set of hands to help I just need the weather to break so I can turn the water on outside so I can clean the sump so the silicone will hold.

Here is a basic look of the layout I am going for.

Gave the gfo reactor a major cleaning. Had not done it since we put it in.
Placed the recent adds on rock work.

Removed and cleaned the overflow on my reef cube. Water surface sunk about 1 cm after cleaning... ;-)

Nice design looks like plenty of room in that sump design. Are you going to put a fuge in there? What are your measurements? What cad program do you use Mike? What is that area behind your sock holders? overflow? Lots of ???

The program was - I found what I was looking for in google images... lol. I am using my existing 48 x 18 Oceanic sump, it is made with 1/2 glass is is one of the old ones. They don't make them like this anymore. I am using 3/8" acrylic for my sock holders and baffles. The first area is going to be "capped" with a 18 x 5 piece of acrylic that has bulk heads and unions to hold my drain lines. This will also keep the splash down and contain the salt creep. I am putting unions in so I can disconnect it easily for cleaning. The first section will be filled with live rock rubble. The water will then flow over a "ledge" and hit the flat 18 x 15 area that has 3 - 7" socks. The water will flow through the socks and into a 20" skimmer section. Then through 3 baffles set up as a bubble trap and into the returns, I will be pulling out the ones that are in there now. My sump is drilled as I use 2 external pumps for my system.

The entire thinking of the design is because right now I have 2 sock holders - The main tank drains in one and the frag drains in the other. I want all drains to hit before the socks (except for my fuge that is a slow flow and does not cause a lot of bubbles - that will drain by the return area so I can catch pods and stuff back up into display). Plus right now my socks sit in water instead of being suspended so they really are not efficient. I will post up some pics along the way.
