Maybe that wasn't it for the day. I made my silencer for my skimmer.

(Yes there is no filter sock so there are a lot I bubbles.)
I tell you for being so simple that thing really makes a difference. I used 2 1 1/2" caps and a piece of 1 1/2" pipe and drilled 2 holes. The skimmer air line goes in one and another piece of tubing goes in another. Literally cut the noise down 100%. I don't even hear the skimmer anymore. I think I can sleep tonight knowing that its done.

I decided to 'dip' a few corals that weren't looking as good as I thought they should.

After getting a suitable dish, and using Coral Rx, I managed to dip several Monit caps bigger than a fist. In doing so, some of them were encrusted on other rocks, and a few chunks/chips were broke off. Viola! Instant frags!

Yesterday I dipped a few frags, looked in the little cup and kinda freaked!
Later that day, looking at a reefers system near me, I realized I was seeing Amphipods and copopods only! Wwhheeewww!

My previous DIY frag rack could take no more plugs, so I modified (shortened) one I hade already made from about 16in. long, down to about 10in long.
I used the Mag float off of the smaller one to zip tie to this one. Lots of space now,
uh oh, I was never going to have a 'frag rack' in my DT, oh well.

DIY frag rack not used yet was this:

    Now this, about 10in. long

This angled FTS today- it's actually not all white glare in person- Darn Iphone!

    Nice rack Todd!
I've never dipped corals, haven't really had to yet IMO. What do you dip them in. And what does it consist of. Is it just a medication for the corals?

Yes on the dips. It seems the 2 most common are the product Coral Rx, and Bayer insecticide from your local hardware/garden store. Online you can find the concentration to use.

Next time I'm around a female in a lfs, or near a reef tank with frag racks, I'm going to have to say 'Nice Rack' ;-)

I always was kind of curious about an accurate measurement of the actual flow thru my sump/ per hour.

So I cam up with what I think is an accurate measurement as accurately as I could, my sumps flow/hr. of my current set up.

I started a new thread about that

Pretty much completely rebuilt my return line. This involved:

    Union ball valve
    2 3/4"elbows
    1 3/4 to 1"pvc bushing
    1 3/4" tee
    New bulkhead
    1/2" union
    3 feet of 3/4" pvc
    6" of 1/2" pvc
1 3/4" slip to ftp pvc coupling
1 3/4" male to barbed adapter
A couple inches of black hose
And of course pvc cement and primer

It was an interesting early morning to mid afternoon. I forgot to purchase some pipe hangars so I can secure my tee off line to my reactors.

Oh, and changed 5 gallons of water.

    Tired!

I looked for a new coral frag I recently got. Over the weekend when I was gone, one of my mischievious fish, or my urchin, or hermit knocked out of the frag rack and sent it somewhere into my rockwork/scape, and for the life or me, I can't find it- yet.

I'm gonna find it. It is an Orange branching Monti

Are you sure they didn't jump out.

Today I played with my new wp40, got it where I want it today. Moved a birdsnest that was blown off a rock and now I'm making some frag plugs for a buddy.
