Yep, that was UNscheduled 20g WC!

I was so glad, and lucky that it turned out the way it did, no damages, no losses.

Instead of starting a new thread; I'm also including in this thread: 'I vow'.....

I vow not to let my powerheads so crudded over before cleaning again!

I had been just giving them a quick brush with an old toothbrush IN the tank every few weeks.
I had heard about taking them out ans soaking in a vinegar/water bath.

Wow- that water is so nasty after you soad and scrub with said toothbrush!

My Koralias recently crapped out, mostl likely b/c i wasn't cleaning them well- 2 of them.
With my wp40 still going on W3 mode, I took oput my MJ's 1200 and 1400 and soaking them, scrubbing them, etc.

BUT, while they are out, I kinda like the look withiout them, and my fish seem to like it too!
they were in the back, near the center facing toward the front corner of both sides.
I may put them back on the ends facing in- with my wp40 going as well.

PS- the humm of the wp40 isn't as noticeable on w3 mode it seems

I just cleaned some of my rock and some of my Corals of red slime, Turkey blasted everything and did a water change, cleaned the class inside and out. I think the red slime stage is just about over.

Filters? As in a cannister maybe- THAT's most likely your nitrate source!

Well, I soaked in vingar/tap for a few hours, scrubbed, and put 3 of the 5 powerheads back in the DT. Really 3 of the 4, 'cause 1 was real small thingy.

The POC Koralia needed coaxing to restart by gently tounching the buttons on the front cover.
Then It starts BACKWARDS! After about 6 attempts, I got the Koralia going forward, and pointed at my frag rack.

The 2 MJ's- with the attachment it comes with- started instantly and DIDN'T make a sound! I went to tap it against the side to get it going, and WOW, it's already going- silent, and both of them went forward!
    I like the MJ's with the fan attachment! I have a 1200 and 1400 I think.

Without one Koralia, and the little dinky powerhead, I'll be I'm at at least 5,000g/hr flow, that's rating the wp40 way down because it does not run full all the time, but has varied modes.

Cleaning those pwerheads was LONG overdue!

I also moved several coral atound - AGAIN to get them in the optimal spot, for this week anyways ;-)

    Everyone seems happy

Yeah there was plenty of gook in the filters & intake etc. not so sure if its considered a canister. FW bio wheel. Anyway, I rinsed it all out, I didn't do a real thorough job, wasn't sure if too clean would be good.

I leveled and started filling my new 125 at midnight last night, and it finally finished filling with RO/DI about an hour ago. Just added salt, and will adjust tomorrow to get to 1.025.
