Hah, thanks Jerry! I think a week and two days is pretty good to get a tank CLEANED (it had not been cleaned at all after the previous owner had the crash...you can only imagine what the overflows looked like :-/) plumbed (including incorporating a separate sump that I drilled), leveled, leak tested, filled and running! Oh and rearranging the living room and moving my 28 nano as well :)

Been there. I bought the 180 for the Queen Trigger used. The coralline on the overflows was so thick, I tried muratic acid to remove it, but it was etched into the plastic. I ended up just painting over it with black Krylon, lol.

Definitely! I will start a new thread for it shortly, maybe tonight if I have time.

I just left the dead coralline on the overflows. Gave up after vinegar and water didn't work. The rest of the tank looks brand new now though :)

;D Motivation may be a big factor. You already have a 125 setup. I can't wait to tear down my 55 ;)

Where do I begin... over the past 30 days, I've 1. completely reworked the light set up. well, actually, my husband did, but under my close supervision. I now have 6 LED Ecoxotic Pro modules ranging from 8k to 12k, one of which is a 450 actinic blue combo and 3 stunner strips, blue, royal blue and magenta/blue. I think I'm set as far as light go, for keeping my LPS and newly added SPS :D corals happy. However any suggestions on that is so welcomed! 2. as can be concluded from above, I've added my very first acropora! Will have pictures of that once I figure out how to upload pictures w/o loosing their quality, maybe like Jerry does :) or maybe I need a new camera... 3. added a 6-line wrasse, who is beautiful, picture below doesn't do him justice (acro can be actually seen there too) and 4. a very young and very cute almost tangerine in color clown, to pair up with my existing one. Amazingly the 2 are not fighting at the moment, it's been a couple of weeks. Very afraid to jinx it, but looks like DiverDan's plan might be working for me! The new guy is on the second picture, sort of in the middle. Again, sorry for the blurry picture. 5. I love this thread! :)

    Nice Pics Anya

I of course have been replacing coral, (knocked over by turbo snails, fish, urchin, etc.) and just started using vinegar in my calc to make it more potent. It has increased my skim since using the vinegar in the calc the last few days.

And, somehow I almost killed off my large Tyree monti cap flower. But low and behold, it seems to be coming back and I"ve seen a few of the blue polyps on it again! Yea!- funny, the whole time my over Monti caps were doing fine.
I dipped it in Coral Rx, and got my SG back where it should have been- was too high, and still getting my Mg up slowly- was 1300 yesterday. Ca 450, alk 9
My Birds of Paradise is getting better color again also! Yea!

Replaced my old T5 bulbs with some new ATI Coral Plus and Blue Plus.

Also wall mounted my T5 fixture so that is hanging now and not resting on top of my tank!

    What a convenience !!!

I finally cleaned my skimmer so it's now working correctly...yay....also cleaned the glass & changed the angle of my powerhead so it no longer moves the sand @ the front of the tank.
