Did the first cleaning of my pair MP40 in this "new" tank (3 months in), and cleaned the skimmer pump. They both needed it, and are actually running quitter than before :)

Today I did a 12g WC- in doing so siphoned the shallow bed of my DT, and also the sump. Amazing how dirty that water is going down the drain, yet the DT is crystal clear- gravity I guess.

My current DT-125g, was a CL buy, and ended up having some scratches, and I may have put some in as welll.
The Mag floats kind of skim over the algae in the fine scratches, and after a while, some of them are real noticeable.
So I get my hand and arm in there, and use a white scour pad and push and scrub like hell on those scratches.
So hard in fact, I'm afraid I'm going to break the tank or the seam, and I do try and back it up with my other hand sometimes.

This method does work however, and it looks great again!
But when I'm scrubbing like that- I wish I had a smaller tank!

My fish seem to love it however, the WC and the scratches cleaned that is.

Not today, but last night... 25 gal water change and vacuumed as much detritus up as I could with a shop vac out of the sump. Then built a stand out for my skimmer out of egg crate/pvc legs instead of my el cheapo rubbermaid box with some holes in it turned over. Which proved to be the biggest destrius trap there was.

Also I cut my thumb sawing the pvc.

Sat and watched, smiled a bit, then sat and watched a bit more.
Think I almost got the hang of it today, will give it another go tomorrow though.

Nothing....still extremely automated and enjoying it. This is the first tank I have had that hasn't burned me out on the hobby. Thank you reef-keeper.

When I re-did my tank, my wife insisted I automate as much as possible......she had no clue what kind of gadgets I could come up with.
