What have you done to your set up today?

Still nothing but food

 

you might have me convinced to switch to the kent salt. I currently use Reef Crystals and every time I do a water change I get a nasty algae outbreak for a week. Been thinking about seachem salt or regular IO.

 

My Big 3 stay higher than ever after switching to Kent.

Yesterday, I went with my Jaebo DC12000 return pump on my existing system.
Increase my sumps flow by about 50%! this thing is SILENT!
When I fired it up, I thought it wasn't working, then my return to my sump started flowing! It was on!
My DT and inhabitants are liking this!

 

After my third wrasse jumped into my overflows, I finally decided to make covers for them. So I bought a 12"x12" sheet of 1/8" thick black acrylic and cut them to fit. Took about an hour total using my chop saw and cost $7.90. Holes are for air tubing for my durso's. Here are crappy cell pics for your viewing pleasure:

Now I just don't know if I still need to prevent them from jumping on top of them and possible getting stuck in between. I was thinking of making a lip that went up to the mesh tops.

 

Today I installed my overflow, started up my mag 3, turned the light on to my diy algae scrubber (thanks santamonica) and ordered 4 shiney new ATI bulbs. I just added 6 gallons of volume to my system and once I can find a 1 inch Y and a ballvalve my fuge will be up too, its starting to come around.

 

I added a tiny chevron tang today. I'll post pics later after he gets comfortable.

 

installed the new CADLights PLS-100 in my sump, nice little skimmer with power. Hopefully the longevity test passes.

I'm trying to bring my alk up some, (really wan't that low though),
and doing some water changes, trying to get this RTN of a few of my corals figure out ;-(.

 

I plan on doing a water change later!
