I like that, simple and effective. I would be looking for something to cover the light leak... But I have no clue on what you could use. Haha

You mean on the sides of the fixture frame? I was noticing it too, but thought it was normal. I was thinking of adding a black background to my DT? Would that help?

I meant more like putting something from the bottom pvc frame that rests on your tank to the top pvc that your light is resting on. Then you only see light in your tank. That's something I want on my tank. The part that would be interesting is making a door or a spot to for access into the tank for feeding/etc...

However, I still like the design, simple, easy to put together and it looks very sleek!

I get what you're saying. I'll have to channel my inner McGyver and figure it out. I just had to disconnect my fans though, so I don't want to trap any heat in there either.

Maybe I can wrap a dark screen around it and make it easy to take off for tank maint. Velcro is an amazing invention!!

I was actually thinking magnets, but velcro is also a good idea. Maybe some tinted acrylic or black acrylic, glue some magnets and easy on/easy off. Then you could leave the back open or holes in the side for ventilation.

Magnets.. Now we're getting hitech! I was gonna cut a 4" strip of screen to wrap around the open space like a skirt and and put velcro on the ends to attach it together in one of the corners if that makes sense. The screen will also allow some ventilation. I wonder if the Gf would mind if I "borrowed" some screen from one of our windows to test this out ;)

I never thought of the ventilation with the screen, good idea.

what's the saying, it's easier to ask forgiveness than to ask permission? :devilish:

Filled my 180 (one of them) full of rocks to start getting them wet again to prepare to cook them. I doubt it will take 60 gallons of water to fill the tank. ;D
