Scrubbed enough green algae off my glass to re cover the Hulk this am! Why is this all of a sudden happening? Part of cycling? Last time I moved I got a diatom bloom (brown), but never had green algae on my glass.. New lights? Lack of flow? My return pump has its better days.

your increased lighting could definitely be contributing. How old are the bulbs that are in the fixture?

I'm not sure how old. I replaced two bulbs yesterday and I'm going to repeat the process every two weeks or so to slowly replace all of them.

I think that's a really good idea. I know that old bulbs can definitely increase algae growth and then you've increased the intensity as well.

increased my overflow pluming from 3/4" to 1" piping and wow what an increase in flow. I was able to open my return pump wide open now. I can already see the difference in the DT.

I got out my old 'reverse durso', and put it on the end of my return.

It wasn't loud anyways, but now there's less bubbles that sometimes overflow my return/skimmer chamber and landed in the sump. This way, 100% of the water makes it to my chaeto in a small waterfall.

Fragged some broken chunks of spogoides, and Birds of Paradise also.

Gave away/sold some frags today to a local reefer.

Scraped my back wall just a little where browner algae was covering the corraline.
