Fish that forage for food on rocks, such as a coral beauty, can go to the grazer, and eat the food off of it! It's basically a ring of food on a plastic suction cup that you place on the glass. You remove it before the lights go out, because the food obviously starts to deteriorate. It's a cool way to keep fish fed all day!

I checked on my tank to see that the salt that I added was beginning to dissolve. I let it completely dissolve, but the tank is still cloudy with something. At first I thought microbubbles, but I'm really not sure how that would be possible, since there aren't and microbubbles going to the return. I added my rock sculpture and added some Microbacter7 and a pinch of flake food. Let the cycle begin!

I've tried but the pic is not coming out. My LFS said it's "normal" since I just moved and I'm also in the middle of changing out my lights in a used fixture I just bought. He said to add some smart start to my tank. He had some other chemicals, but if it's going through the cycling process I'm just going to let it do its thing.

Sooooo, did the fish ever decide they liked it? My LFS owner uses these in his big display tank. I was thinking of trying it eventually.

Tank maintenance 101.. My LFS told me to take a turkey baster and blow around my LR & corals that have the black stuff all over it and WOW what a difference. Is this a commonly known practice and I've been out of the loop? I feel like I need to be doing this a few times a week! Also bought more pods. AND since I haven't taken the leap to a RO unit yet, I finally made the hike out to Home Depot for a couple screw top lids for my 5gal buckets. Not sure why Lowe's doesn't sell them.. I've been dealing with those snap on lids for far too long.

Well, I only used one "food ring" so far. Going to try it again on monday when I have the chance to see if they touch it or not. IMO, if you don't have any fish in your tank that forage for food throughout the day, don't get it.

Today I am setting up bucket with a pump and heater and adding 150 pounds of live rock and salted RO water and starting work on the electrical for the sump set up!

Changed the Aquascape and made a shell tree. China man rock and a brain-shroom. I was bored. LOL
