Yeah, I use the walls of my tank to divert some of the flow from these wavemakers also.

I would only turn off my WP10 at night and leave the WP25 going. LPS don't need the higher flow anyway, so IMO, a little less flow at night won't hurt the LPS. At least this is my theory.

After re-calbrating my refractometer, I realize my Sg was at 1024, so to bring it up, I already have about 20g SW made.
So to bring the SG up w/o a WC, I added 5g of the 1.026 to my system, and shut off my ATO. So basically, for the next 2-3 days my repolacement water is 1.026, instead of 0tds.

I also tinkered with my sump/fuge's chaeto basket again- which releases hugh amounts of pods/detritus into the DT. So although I don't 'feed' any of my corals anything, they still get a bunch of food. I often do this 'chaeto turning' at night, when more of the corals are actually feeding vs. photosynthesis.

I"m LOVING the new growth and colors since switching to the full spectrum/dimmable/90degree lense LED's!

Last week I was in San Diego for work, so the day before I left my RTBA blew up. I don't know what happened, everything was looking great and I wake up and gone. I have some ideas, he was walking around, maybe he got sucked into a powerhead or the overflow. I had some "substance" floating in the tank, so I'm assuming it was the torn up RTBA. Everything else is fine and looking healthy.
The tank was a mess, so I did a ten gallon water change, then left for a week and came home and did a 20 gallon water change yesterday (2/2/14). While I was at it, I got out the gravel vac and sucked up the sand that was directly under where the RTBA was living. I removed a lot of detritus and now I have a nice clean section in the tank.
