My scooter blenny died overnight. Assuming its old age. Didn't have that long...maybe 6 months. But water levels good. Do need to do a water change but all in all things are well in tank.

    RIP little buddy

If your scooter didn't eat pellets or prepared foods it starved. 6 months is about how long it takes. Scooters like mandarins need a tank established with pods for atleast a year or 2. It would surprise you to see how much they have to consume in one day let alone 6 months. I wouldn't buy another. I've had my scooter for a year and 3 months and my mandarin for 2 years. They both eat pellets and fresh seafood I prepare but I have to feed them multiple times a day or they will starve and it's the reason I overfeed the tank. Remember this, just because you see pods in your tank doesn't mean there's nearly enough to sustain a scooter or mandarin. Hope this help ball game. I only know this because I've made the same mistake in the past.

Thanks guys. Very helpful, thanks for the info. Ive seen him eat brine and pretty sure eaten mysis. I feed my tank once a day but going to assume thats not enough for Scooter based on the posts.
I have 2 2 spot damsel, 2 ocellaris clowns, 6 line wrasse, and the now dead Scooter. Also have cleanup crew of 3 hermit crabs and 1 fire shrimp.
Once a day enough? I rotate between flakes (Omega One Marine Flakes and Omega Veggie Flakes) brine, and mysis.

Last night I needed to make some room for my hollywood stunner and his nasty stingers. So I fragged up some Purple Death Palys (with no gloves) and this was my first time fragging a zoa/paly of any sort.

Next time gloves, about halfway thru, I stop and go what's all this gooooo, "ahhh crap they're palys". I wished up really well afterwards.
