I'm 6'1 !!! I tinkered around and 7" is where it looked best. LED's were too exposed at 9". Here's a FTS. Second coat of paint on the plywood to wrap the stand is drying as I type this! I was on a roll til my cordless drill decided to die on me . At least all my batteries View attachment 64124 did, so I'm down til one of my buddies gets off work to borrow one.

as a person who is height challenged :), I'd say I would love to look at your tank but not be blinded - I'll let others chime in on the optimal height because I don't know enough about LED's to help - the tank looks really great cbs! congrats on getting so much done on it!

I took what FeedYourMachine said and played with it. Any lower and the tank starts to darken. Toggeling around with this solo is a pain too. OFK on a lady's opinion, dudes as well I guess.. I was going to paint the stand a "weathered white" so the stand almost blends in with the room, so only the tank itself stickes out.. Good idea?

oh my gosh, pressure!! Is there a way to see a shot of the tank with the color in the room a little more visible? - in particular, the tile color? I can tell the blinds are white.....walls also?

I have a gameplan.. My tile is sandstone color (light beige). I'm using the wooden slats from a fence and painting them white to go over the main plywood. I decided to paint the interior and leave the exterior natural plywood color and I'll put a small spacer in between the slats to let some of the wood color through to break up the white if that makes sense.

LOL I can't find my own build thread! Hears the back side I just finished.. There's a primed piece of plywood underneath the slats I used. I was going to enclose the entire thing and luckily DSCreef informed me I need airflow in there. Now I'm not sure what to do with the sides? I'm going to match the front to the back and maybe just leave the sides open? Or put slats and leave some room between them for air with no plywood underneath.
