It doesn't run backups during my evenings - the time I want to see what's going on in the reefing world! ;D

    1. There is always someone online that might be able to answer whatever question you have.

    2. It is invaluable source of quality information.

    3. The sponsors are really supportive of the 3reef members by offering special discounts and various other benefits.

    4. You can ask anything without feeling to much like a newbie.

    5. I'm sure I could think of more, but hey it is late/early in the night/morning.

They keep the ads out of the post. Your not reading a post and half way through theres an ad for car insurance. Also very knowledgable people of the hobby.

I run in to this every night! It goes from about 8pm to 10pm local time which is when I am most interested in browsing the forums!

My friendly 3reef cures my reef forum cravings though!

This is my first reef site, and from what I've read while browsing other sites posts on google, 3reef has made their site the most legible of all, making it to me, the most valuable place for information. If you can't make sense of what's being said, them what's the point of reading it.

I like this forum first and foremost because people are friendly. Sure there are moments when we may drift off topic but its usually in the case of humor not drama and anger, and the threads usually come back around.

People here are open to new members. The question was posed to me on another forum "What do you know you only have 10 posts." I guess post count = expereince.

The next bigger kicker for me is people are interested in the knowledge not necessarily where it comes from. Linking to a website or sometimes even to an other forum doesnt result in deleted posts & temp bans.

I would also like to throw in that we have moderators, not self imposed gods (in thier own minds). They are here to share and learn not put down thier foot as the final answer to a question.

This site is definitely an anomaly amongst other online communities that I've seen and/or been a part of. I haven't seen a flame war or a troll in the 4 months or so that I've been around. Very refreshing.

Kudos and thanks to all you moderator types... ya dun good kid!

I have to say, I'm new and the people here seem to be incredibly nice and not snarky or anything. I don't get the impression that anyone is trying to 1up everyone else :) that's so refreshing
