Also, everyone realizes that there are many time-proven ways to meet the same end, and discussions flow with friendly acceptance; members are dedicated to helping regardless which path one chooses to take.

 

There's no bashing.

On another forum, which I will not name, I recently came upon a thread "What's the best aquascape you've ever seen?" When someone (many people actually) didn't like something, they would say something like "that's hideous, what are you doing?", or "That's F ugly" (Yes - someone actually said that - except they used the word. lol). It basically became a flame war. When I asked someone if their scape was any better...they replied with "If you read the title up above, you will see that this is a 'Best scape ever' thread, not a 'show your aqausacepe' thread."

There was also some huge debate about usage of the 'golden ratio' for aqausacping. Some people were for it and nothing else, while others were completely against it. My take on it - "who cares".

It was getting ridiculous technical about how it was always used in art and aquascaping is an art - "so we have to use the golden ratio to have a good aquascape."

 

I like 3reef cause there are alot of hobbyist that know more than i do and i get to learn from them plus i like PICS!!!!!!!!!!!

 

There is a level of humility here, unlike so many other forums. And as said before the Mods here are helpful and kind.
