This dark purple stuff is growing off the rocks in my tank...
it's kind of mold-looking ... is it a form of coraline algae?

Leave it alone... be happy... be concerned... any help?

All I can make out is a coralline encrusted rock (nicely encrusted btw) which has some apparent shroom's growing in nice flow with a hermie checking it out....no worries - actually, was a nice pic to explore with the morning coffee -- tnx !

Thanks! I was wondering if they were shrooms... they are very soft... and growing quite nicely over the coralline!

Id say it is a process of coraline algea. I have seen the same process with the same looking algea and when the softer fuzzy dark purple receedes the algea underneith is bright purple coraline...
