What is a "nano"?

What size is a "nano"

    I always thought 5gal or smaller was a NANO.

    I say anything under 20g.

    I say under 30 is a nano and under 5 is a pico.

    JBJ lists their 28 Gal cube as a nano.

    I read somewhere that the original intention of the term "nano" was for 30 gallons and under but I tend to think of 20 gallons and under as nanos since you can keep a reasonable number of species in 30 gallons. Under that and you start to run into real limitations IMO. I would agree probably 5 and under for picos as well.

    I didn't expect such a close race between 20 and under and 30 and under.

    We might have to petition JBJ to remove the word "nano" from there 28 gallon kits.

    That is pretty much how I see it.

    I wouldn't consider my old 35g a nano, but some do.
