What is causing my coralline to grow

    Congrats. This is a sign of a healthy tank. You will soon develop a love hate relationship with coralline.

    I dunno about that. I thought it was so cool when all of my snails and hermits had cute pink shells. And the purple rock against my nuclear dragon eyes looks so pretty.

    Get a calcium test kit and keep your calcium up around 400-450ppm and it should thrive.

    IME coraline loves lower light. I've got a 400 Watt halide on my tank ... and the coraline grows very very rapid where the light is less intense.

    Yes, I love it on the rocks but then it starts to grow and cover all the walls of the tank and powerheads. Some like to leave the back of the tank cover in it. I prefer to have the glass clean all the way around.

    certain species of coralline (hundreds of different species, if not thousands), like lower lighting, some like brighter. The lower lighting ones tend to be the best looking, or at least the more diverse.
