I thought i already had my nitrite spike earlier. I've had my ammonia spike, then it went down, not to 0 but it went down, i'm just getting over my nitrate spike, levels aren't at 0 yet either but have gone down, and now nitrite is going up. It has stayed at 0.05 for the longest time, today i checked my parameters, and it reads 0.2. I already had a spike in nitrites in the beginning, and it was off the charts and it eventually went down to 0.05 and now it's going back up. And this is at week 8. Is this the last part of the cycle? I'm getting a small GHA bloom, and i've had diatoms this entire time and it's getting worse.

Its just going through another passing of die off (ammonia). The bacterial colonies have not stabilized yet so you are only seeing a drastic spike in one of the readings. It's typical for a cycle to last up to 12 weeks so I wouldn't even be close to thinking this is abnormally long yet.
Damsel needs to be added at the very start. At this point it will not do anything for you, except possibly make the cycle even longer. Just let it ride out ;)

ok, i have a lot of whie rock that's facing the back of the tank, and the white rock that was facing the front has now been covered in diatoms or coralline. So would all of that dead rock be causing a lot of the die off?
