FWIW, I've had several hours of conversations on this very bulb/topic with both Icecap and Iwasaki reps. If you indeed feel I'm wrong, please feel free to contact them yourself and explain it to them as I'm basicly regurgitating what has been stated to me ;)

Here's Icecaps blurb on them from www.icecapinc.com:

I'm not trying to be crabby, really! :tongue4:

By definition, though, there is just no way a 20k and 6.5k bulb can have the same CRI. In this case I suspect it's just the marketing department taking a bit too much liberty. They probably quoted the highest CRI in the line-up without worrying about silly details ... like the fact that differant bulbs are, well, differant! :-/

The point I was trying to make from the start, though, is that CRI isn't an important consideration in aquariums. I love my 14k Phoenix bulbs. I think they make all the coral and fish look great. Their CRI is probably only 60-70. Oh well!! ;D

:D Marketting, yup ;) It should state 86, and I've spoken to a few people about that all ready. They're even confusing the spot and flood :D I called one on it, and he said "the terms are interchangable". I hope you didn't spit on your keyboard just now :)

I just wated to ask if a t5 bulb with a 20000 kelvin rating and a cri of 95 would be a good investment?
