What is it with these crabs

and this power head?

Same day, 2 different crabs within 3 hours on the same powerhead, different positions.. One stuck, the other trying to break in..Bunch of crazies I got running around my tank.

 

That's hermits for you, they get into spots they can't get out of.

 

thats awesome.. looks helpless.. do you have the slotted intake cover for that pump?

 

Try moving the intake up a little or using the included guard.

wouldn't it be great if unwanted hitch hiker crabs would do the same thing

Oooo yeah, completely forgot about the intake guard, I'm sure I have a few lying around. Thanks for the reminder, I'll throw one on for sure. And I so far no luck with catching unwanted crabs. I added two red mithrax crabs that have been wreaking havoc on some LPS and softies. I didn't rely on the powerhead to catch those guys, just my hands
