My blue tang has been acting funny the last two days, and his (her?) belly has become swollen. Last night it started hovering in one spot nose down, tail up. and it looks like, A) its guts are turning inside out. or B) I'm gonna be a daddy. If someone could tell me if this is a berthing ritual or my fish has problems. here are some pics.
    Thanks.

How long have you had it?

Very often the swim bladder can be damaged during capture. Swimming becomes difficult to impossible, but if you've had it a while I wouldn't thing that was the cause. Hopefully someone else will have a better answer
It is unlikely it going to lay eggs

I would consider putting it in a QT and treating with a broad spectrum antibiotic like Sulfa, Penicillin or Kanamycin. Don't wait too long because if its bacterial it will overwhelm yor fish quickly.

As a Matter of fact, I have had it less than two weeks. It was a replacement fish when I had a crab disaster in my tank. That is why I thought of the possibility of being, with fish, because I was at the LFS and he did not have any blue tangs as small as I wanted to start of with again, so I had to wait as he was getting more the next day. that is when I got him, he barely spent a day at the LFS.I have had him about 8 to 10 days, and I have just noticed this in the last two days. I am setting up a QT now, and I am guessing I get the anti-biotic from the LFS?
    Thanks for your help.

Too late, He expired last night. I found him sleeping with the fishes this morning.
    Thanks anyway people.

But now I feel I have an additional problem. If this was bacterial as opposed to a damaged bladder due to rough capture, is my tank in trouble??

And if so, how will I know, and What can I do for the whole tank???
