    I am new to fishkeeping, and i wondering what is refugium? is refugium same with filter and pump?

    They are a great way to keep a healthy tank! They act as a place to grow macro algae for natural filtration in the reef system. Some people have such nice fuge setups that they display them.

    a refugium is basically a tank placed under your display tank that allows copedpods and other critters a place to grow

    They (like mine) can also look just like a swamp. Filled with cheato and all sorts of algae that grow there so it has a place to grow and not in the dt. Great place to grow pods for a natural food source for corals and fish.
