Sigh....don't you know that Gargamelle is the bad guy in the Smurfs? If you didn't read so much Bill Wobblestick, you'd know that

    Is this true?

My dog has itched for years(not just summer). We shave her and she used to get cortisone shots but we moved and the new vet gave her prednisone(nasty stuff), she became very aggressive so I stopped that. I give her 1/2 of a benadryl every day and that stops the itch but it's usally because she's knocked out. Any pharmacy has AVIL??? Does that make them drowsy? Would love to see if it works for her. I hate to see such a sweet dog in misery!

I didn't know that Gargamelle was a Smurf, but obviously you did because you IS one. Typical 4ft 13in comment :)

Oh Dear!! I used to take Prednisone, but had to stop because I couldn't stop crying. It was really embarassing, I'd spend most of my day bawling my eyes out, and that was before I knew Amcarrig :) Now I am not taking the drug, but she still has the same effect except it's usually because I am laughing so much :)
AVIL is readily available over here but you may need to check your local Pharmacy or the manufacturer as it may have a different name or sumfin'. It doesn't seem to make them drowsy, but I do know that if you OD the dog they do go a bit hyper, so be careful, particularly if it's a big dog with a bone :)
