What is the best macro Algae

Mangroves for me.

 

Mangroves are not a macroalgae, though I like them too.

 

Chaeto is the best when you consider that caulerpa can go sexual and nuke the tank relatively easily, and halimeda will use calcium since it's a calcareous algae.

Mangroves are cool, but as it's been said, not quite an algae.

 

Halimeda can go sexual and nuke the tank also. I have first hand experience with that.

 

Chaeto will not "attach" to things like other macros. Also, does not release nutrients when pruned! Excellent for pod and star formation/growth. Simply the best hardiest macro to first consider. And I've got the best cleanest hardiest stuff around! Seriously. You should get some if you're even thinking about it.

What do you mean when a macroalgae can "nuke" your tank?

 

Caluerpa is probably the best if you ignore its serious risks. other than that chaeto is best.

your not setup for mangroves. mangroves are trees at most and bushes at the least.
