    well... Im assuming your going to be told its a preference on brand, and that is true... I think we need to know a little more, like do you need a HOB skimmer or one for a sump?

    I may not be able to tell you the best, but I will say stay away from the AquaC skimmers-never undstood the amount of positive reviews, I have the their RemoraC which is a HOB, and thier EV-180.
    They both pull skimmate but are not worthy of the reviews they receive-I would NEVER ever buy another.
    I have since bought this one;
    page10
    and I will tell you it rocks, the gunk it pulls make me glad I finally found one that works great.
    I've heard great things about the ASM, but have no hands on experiance with them.

    You should get alot of helpful feedback here

    Thats like asking what the best car brand. Your going to get a different answer from just about everyone. If budget is of no concern why not look into bubble king's.

    You said it perfect-LOL

    I only like to throw out what I know from personal experiance the result/effectiveness, and no better way that to post a pic of it in use-

    Maybe not a bad idea-ask to see the skimmer in action-I bet all those positive reviews I read would have seemed less positive(IMO) if I would have seen a collection cup ful of "wet skimmate" LOL

    Good luck with the search of the holy grail of skimmers-No offence meant

    Really matters what your budget is. I use a Bullet Series from Precision Marine and love the performance I get from it.
