what is this? a mushroom?

    see the reason why i never thought it was a mushroom was because it never tried to form a colony. its been the only one......im not one to no much about mushrooms however soooooo. i could be way out in left field.

    This has hairs on the oral disc not just outlining the disc, so it is not a polyp! Hairy mushrooms are easy to maintain and really do not require much in terms of husbandry requirements!

    Steady and adequate parameters are ideal and they will absorb nutrients as well as filter them from the water, ocassionally feeding on small tidbits that they catch over the course of the day! Iodine may help as will a temperature of around 78 and salinity of 1.023-1.025!

    In my opinion, msuhrooms are less likely to form colonies(mats) than zoanthids etc. though reproduction can be displayed the same(asexual)!

    Man, you must have microscopes for eyes. How could you see hair on the oral disk from that picture?
