No it's a Limpet, I know exactly what you are talking about, I have one myself, only comes out at night and doesn't like the light. Has a tiny circle of a shell on it's back, solid black, two antennas, and a snail like mouth. In the snail family, don't know if it's a nuisance or not, but it hasn't shown itself to be bad in my tank. Really, it never leaves this one section of rock I have. It has other avenues to go somewhere, but it stays put. I'll post a pic as soon as I get my camera charged...

Great pic, Does look like yours but I didn't notice the shell? I'll have to inspect it a bit better next time I see it ! If I see it. Thanks for the pic. I have about 4 more pics coming of other hitchikers that just showed up. I think one is a feather duster. Post them in a bit.

PagoJoe just informed me that what I have is a Stomatella, and from what I've come to understand he's kind of the resident snail expert, so I'm gonna have to take his word there. Stomatella it is...

the shell of stomatellas are hard to see due to its flatness, if it is one though no worries as they are part of your CUC.

    LOL

Don is kinda the resident snail expert like Leslie is kinda the resident worm expert. They are both noted in their fields of study. Not by reefkeeping hobbyists, but by their peers in their industry. 3Reef is very thankful to have people like them (and many others who are experts at their fields). If you ask me a challenging RO/DI question, I might know the answer, I might not. Luckily, I can PM Desert Rat and you will get an answer from someone a lot smarter than me in that field.
