    Can someone tell me what this is called? I got 3 of them from the guy I bought my tank setup from. My damsel loves hiding in it at night. Is this good to have in a tank? Bad?

    Those are acorn barnacles, should be fine as long as detritus doesn't build up in them.

    look like barnacles to me... I wouldn't think it would be a problem.

    call me crazy but this question sounds really really familiar....
    but yeah those are safe to have as long as you keep them clean.

    Ahhh yea, now that barnacles were mentioned I knew that's what they were. I saw them on an episode of Dirty Jobs.
