What is this filter

    I got this filter, maybe a skimmer, with a tank. Nobody has been able to tell me what it is

    I had is working with a powerhead
    [​IMG]
    I had visions of the square, removable plastic box as a collection cup.
    When I got it, the inflow box had a bag of charcoal in it, and there was filter media in the outflow box.
    I could convert it to an overflow box, a standard filter for my 100G freshwater, or whatever:confused:
