    A kind of algae, Valonia (bubble algae). It can get out of hand, although it looks pretty cool.

    You can carefully remove it...ideally don't want to "pop it" as this can help it spread. Emerald crabs may also eat it.

    The best way to get rid of it, and you want to get rid of it, is to remove the rock from the tank if you can. In a container with some tank water remove the ball, it will probably pop, just make sure to get ALL of it off and rinse the rock with some tank water before placing the rock back into the tank.

    If you cannot remove the rock, use a piece of air tube with another hard tube on it to siphon the area as you try to remove it. Use extra caution to try and not pop it in the tank. (it will release spores and seed the tank with more)

    Emerald Crabs can work, but like anything else it's not guaranteed they will eat it.
