What is this growth?

Could someone tell me what the pinkish colored growth is in the center of this picture? http://www.3reef.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=3408&limit=recent

If I am seeing it correctly, it is the stolon mat which the star polyps grow and become attached to in colony form. The mat is usually a purple, pink, red color, unless you are talking about the Briareum GENUS of Scleraxonia Gorgonian, then the mat is a cream color and the polyp fingers aren't as long as that of the Star Polyps!

 

I'm talking about the flat small growth...I guess this is the Scleraxonia Gorgonian

 

No idea. Can you take a close up of that growth?

 

Wow, judging from the size of the star polyps in that pic I'd say it's a pretty "close-up" shot as is. To get any closer I think he'd have to spend some serious cash on camera equipment!
(just kidding, I wish my cam would take pics like that!)

 

It may be some sort of macroagae growth from the live rock!

 

I wish I could figure out what the darn thing is but I'd be guessing if I even tried

 

It might be alot of things ? I'd simply reach in there and pull it out problem solved. My be friend might be foe and if you have to ask what it is you don't need it ..
